I am participating in a year long technique blog hop featuring a new technique each month. This month, our first, we featured emboss resist. I had never done it before, so I tried four different methods. I was blown away by what some of the other ladies did for this hop. If you'd like to check it out, you can start at http://scrapsbygracie.blogspot.com/
This was actually the last card I made. I wanted to try emerging color, so I covered a panel of Whisper White with Tim Holtz Distress Inks applied in a random patter. I then stamped in White Pigment Ink and Heat Embossed it with White Embossing Powder. I made the panel larger than I wanted as I wanted to have three feathers to cut and attach to the top. Then I sponged Concord Crush over the top...thinking it would look like Concord Crush (the color of the card stock) but NOPE. I tried misting with water and it lightened up in spots, but not enough. So I dotted it randomly with Copper Leaf Pen and that made it a light lighter...in person. So I learned you have to be careful in what colors you combine or it could look muddy. I attached the stamped panel to a Peach Parfait mat and wrapped it with Bakers Twine and attached it to the Concord Crush base. This was so not what I pictured how this would look in my mind's eye.
