Happy New Year, sweet friends! It's been a while, but I've been busy with the holidays and just giving myself a much-needed break (and trying to reorganize a bit). But I got the boost I needed with the latest Power Poppy remixed digital image. I didn't know that the Lenten Rose (also called Christmas Rose) is known as Hellebores (I wonder how many of you knew that? I imagine some do.). After seeing all the different hues of Hellebores, I was inspired by some of the Pink and Red Lady varieties. I found some designer paper and went to work and came up with this layout - not the most original, but I hope it works.
I used my beloved MISTI to stamp a sentiment from a clear set that fit perfectly. I ended up paper piercing both layers of DP and colored the edges with Copic markers. I lightly sponged some Tea Dye ink while in Labels 11 that I hope you can see. And then I decided to add some lace with seam binding on top and popped the focal image. It was so enjoyable to finally make a card again, and I hope you like it. I hope to start posting again more often and participating in a challenge soon.
Thanks for taking a closer look, and I hope you have a great week! Stop by my blog for more details. Hugs!

So glad to see you back in the galleries. I have been looking forward to seeing your next beautiful creation. We call these Hellebores here - and I have lots of them growing in the garden. Lots of little babies popping up now - all different colours. They add a pretty bright ray of colour in the middle of winter here. Love the addition of the lace to go with these "oldy worldy" flowers. Beautifully coloured image as well and a very pretty card as always.

Oh, how lovely! These always remind me of my mother; we had them in the garden and at this time of year she would always pick some for the house. I've always known them as both hellebore and the Christmas rose - for some reason I think of the Lenten one as the white/creamy version. But I think that's just because in our climate the purple ones seem to flower quite a bit earlier.

Wow, Cheryl, this is just so beautiful, lovely colours and wonderful colouring of the hellebores, as we call them here! I love hellebores and have a few down in my garden - they have been getting a soaking with all the rain we have had these last 3 days!
