I was Inspired to make a Smooshed background by HLS January CAS Challenge: Smooshing There are several video tutorials on the Smooshing technique too :-) I have wanted to try a neutral color card. My DH Denny's birthday is the end of the month, so I used his favorite colors and a CAS/Mixed Media design..his favorite!
I added ink directly from distress ink pads onto my craft mat and spritzed with water. Then the fun smooshing began. I smooshed then dried with heat tool. I did this several times until I got the look I wanted. I started with a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of W/C paper.
Then I used my MISTI and stamped the background leaf stamp using 2nd generation stamping too. Then stamped the flower twice for good coverage. Did the same with the butterfly. Then watercolored the flower and butterfly and sponged the edges. Stamped the sentiment on a piece of smooshed bg.
I am really, really Happy with the results and hope you like it too. Now to hide from my DH !
