My card for mixability challenge E151 tie dye tissue. Instead of using tissue paper, I used some shipping filler paper that was a little bit heavier. Therefore, I had some issues with the paper absorbing the color in the middle of the folded up bundle. I actually wet the paper & then dropped color directly from the food coloring bottles onto the wet paper. The color didn't reach the central layers.
The seam binding is from a roll I recently bought at good will. It's a very light pink, so I thought I'd be able to dye it with ink and that worked great.

Oh well, believe me, tissue doesn't absorb colour right to the centre either! Maybe if I'd wet it first the colour would have wicked in better. Whatever your fix was, it really does give a great tye-die look, down to the funky colours. My DH and I both have a few t-shirts from my sister, going back when she used to sell them at market, and he had one in these colours. Nobody would ever guess the ribbon started out as pink, either.
