This is the 2nd card that I made for the Technique Lovers Challenge, TLC 564 - Rags to Riches - (12/14/15). I had so much fun making the first card, I decided to have a go at making another!
This challenge had 3 parts to it and we were to identify each of the three in the card we created.
1) Use something from the trash or that was a leftover. The item that was from the trash was the small punched piece from a Martha Stewart train punch that I purchased 3 years ago and never used. This piece was punched at that time and lingered in a cast-off bin gathering dust. It surfaced a while back when I cleaned my desk and I tossed it in the trash, as it was too small to keep. Just happened to spot it when I was digging through the trash for something that I accidentally threw away and decided it was kind of cute, so out it came, back into to cast-off bin.
This rags-to-riches challenge was the perfect reason to finally use it!
The red panel with the pretty stitched texture was also from a pile of leftovers, didn't even bother to trim it, just used it as-is.
The oblong stitched die cut is a practice cut that I made when I received the die set awhile back.
The pine sprigs are leftover from the winter card projects I've been working on.
2) Use 2 different techniques.
The techniques used on this card are die cutting, punching and stamping. Easy peasy techniques!
3) Use something shiny.
I used two SU jewels and Wink of Stella clear glitter brush marker on the pine sprigs.
It was fun finding a home for my little choo-choo train scrap after all this time. Thanks for popping by and taking a peek. Warm winter wishes to you!
