So, I reread The Ugly Duckling and the first thing that came to mind was Charlie Brown's poor little Christmas tree and Charlie Brown himself. While Charlie Brown and his tree never quite turned into "swans", his tree did get decorated which improved its appearance. So, I made a Christmas card with a tree on it.

Ack, now you make me want to pull out the DVD and watch it. Growing up, and living all our married life without TV, the first time I ever saw it was about 10 years ago when computers finally started having DVD players. Great take on the challenge. I think you deserve bonus points for going and re-reading the story. As an adult I find so many of them so dark, but I don't remember noticing that as a child.
What a creative take on the challenge! I had to have my mom tell me the story of Charlie Brown's Christmas tree - I knew he had a tree, but I didn't know there was a story behind it! Great card - I love the sparkly gold star on the tree! Thanks for playing along in my challenge!

First of all I love the background paper with the ornaments, it is gorgeous. It's always fun to see what sparked the imagination with these challenges! Beautiful card.
They just announced some kind of anniversary on TV the other night of Charley Brown's Christmas, but I don't remember how many years. But it was a long time ago! LOL A pretty card, and great take on the challenge.
