Karen is hosting this weekÂ’s color challenge, and she has chosen the colors cherry cobbler, soft sky, wild wasabi. Desert is to make one CAS card and one fussy card. This is my CAS card, and hopefully I will get to a fussy card later this week.
I think Peaceful Wishes was my very first SU! Christmas stamp ever, and I have kept it all these years! But I think Ornamental Christmas would work here too. First I blended a light layer of soft sky ink in all areas except the very center of the wc panel. Then I inked up my bough and berry stamps, but would spritz with water before stamping on the panel (except a few times I stamped without spritzing). I went back and added more sponging with the soft sky till I was satisfied. Sponged the edges of the panel with crumb cake. Stamped the sentiment, then splattered with diluted white acrylic paint and cherry cobbler. Matted with cherry cobbler cs. Come and join in the challenge – you may be our next favorite!!

Lovely card, Maura. Thanks so much for describing all the steps. I never think of splattering, and it adds so much interest. Very pretty, with the bow and bright center.
