One of my favorite things to do in life is listen to music. Although I know I am not the next American Idol when it comes to singing, it makes me happy to vocally express any tune that I am listening to. It motivates me to work or create. It brings me back to places in my life that were both happy and sad. I can remember as a child my parents always listened to music and they danced in the kitchen or supermarket. It made them happy. Today, I can listen to music my parents loved and remember great memories of both them and other family members. I remember country gospel songs that were played at family members funerals and it brings me to a happy place to remember that was their song. So what about my song? Well, “Brown Eyed Girl” is one of those songs Russ will sing to me and it makes me smile. Yes, it’s usually heard in a bar or near the beach. But when he looks in my eyes and sings that song, I know I’m HIS brown eyed girl. It also reminds me of the beach. One place I just love to be. I truly can’t pin down just *ONE* song because I have so many favorites. I love songs that make me swing my hips and feel like a Rock star. Songs that bring me back to my high school days. Those crazy 80’s songs. They will ALWAYS rock! Or a song that was popular when I was falling in love with Russ. This is what makes me happy. Music! |
