I can't believe we're at the end of HYCCT for 2015. I knew I wanted to do a checkered flag for my finish line card for Lydia's challenge. I had imagined just having the car over the simple line, but I had a red smear that had to be covered up! I guess I could have started over, but I hate to waste good cardstock! So, instead I stamped another car and embossed in clear then fussy cut it. I stamped my sentiment in white then used a Versamarker to extend the dotted lines. I embossed in white ep. I stamped two rows of the gingham in black then punched my pennants adding some red ones too. I popped these up scoring and bending their tops over a piece of black hemp.
This one is in honor of another that I lost to cancer this past year. We had a lovely church member who was at church whenever the doors were open. She was about my age physically but about 10 mentally. By the time they learned she had ovarian cancer, it had spread throughout her abdomen and she was gone within a couple of months. Her last days were so hard and I'm glad she's crossed the finish line. We used some memorial gifts that had come into the church in her name to buy large sized candy bars to pass out at our Fall Fest which was one of her favorite events of the year...she loved kids, Jesus, our church and candy ;) so we thought it was a fitting tribute. RIP Pammy we love and miss you.

Gayle,
A beautiful tribute to your church member that you lost!! Very fitting your race to the finish card for this woman who fought so hard and went so fast!!
