I loved the way she did the sentiment and the colors she used. I kept her same sketch, but I moved the sentiment and main focal images plus I made all my dp using DRS Designs Stamps and a stencil.
Started everything out as blank white paper. Used DRS Designs Vicki's Versatile bg on the base panel, sponged it with TH distress inks and then drug the Walnut stain pad along to make my plank borders. Then I ran that panel through the SU! Woodgrain embossing folder. For the plaid bg, I sponged some distress ink all over and then took the remaining colors and some SU! Real Red and rubbed them over a stencil (made with a lattice die). Next, I used the DRS script font bg stamp on a panel and then cut out a circle with an SB Die. Sponged on some distress inks and then used a SU! flourish image and some gold glitter ep to make some gold flourishes which you can't really see too good in yhe picture (they are gorgeous IRL). Cut out a leaf with a SB leaf die and used the colors already used on the card and laying around my counter.
I want to send this to a nephew who was baptized this weekend - his whole family was baptized - how wonderful is that! So I used a sentiment from ODBD - I cut it down so I could just focus on the Glory to God words.
Sounds like a lot but I made this while talking on the phone to Sue Worthington (all except the bottom bg section which I had just finished when she called)! I was sponging fast - I amazed myself!!
Lisa, you are one of the big encouragers on SCS - I appreciate all your sweet comments on my cards and I see your sweet notes in almost every gallery I visit. You make some beautiful cards as well - I love your flower cards! Hope you enjoyed your FS week, and I am so sorry I am late!!!
This is also for the MIX144 challenge which is to use Fall Colors (I have ink and ep as my mediums) and the F4A297 which is also to use Fall colors.

You made this HOW????? OMG Nancy, I so miss seeing what you are up to. This is magnificent to say the least. I can't believe you started off with white paper. I can't say enough about it as I would be writing for an hour about all the details. The colors are also AMAZING! Wish I could see this IRL - in fact, wish I could see you IRL too! Miss you and am not on the site as much, but I always think about you.

Started with just white????? This is stunning in every sense of the word - the warm earthy tones, the wood look, the leaves, all that great sponging - Glory to God indeed, and for a wonderful celebration for sure!!!

I can't believe the depth of colour you have achieved starting from white! My goodness, the background looks like it has been aged for centuries ...and I mean that in a GOOD way! Beautiful card!
