This is my card for Angie's HYCCT1522 challenge "Tears Can Be a Good Thing" - to create a background using the wrinkle free distress technique.
I have tried this technique in the past with less than stellar results, which is exactly what happened here. It looked so bad that I actually took it to the sink and soaked it down trying to change how it looked. No such luck! I tried again on the back side; it was slightly better.
After drying the piece, I folder embossed it and brayered black ink over it - and made a mess. I decided to flip it and brayer with white ink - loved it!! SO what you see is actually the debossed image.
Now, if I was Francie (f.schles), I would have doodled all over it and made it spectacular, but I can't doodle worth a hoot, so I settled for glitter dots and a die cut sentiment.
As always, thanks for looking!

This technique isn't always my friend either, and I did a lot the same attempts to save mine as well but your perseverance paid off because this card is beautiful. The glittering details and the pop of black in the greeting and the black mat really set it off as well. A+ effort and result!
JodyLynn, this is amazing!!!! Just goes to show sometimes we have to go through a lot to be beautiful inside and out! I keep scrolling back up to take another look because it's so stunning! Thanks so much for persevering and not giving up on your background or my challenge!
