This is my card for Ann's HYCCT1508 challenge "Add Some Strength" - to use that beautiful, striking piece of card stock you just had to have for your background panel on your card. Now, here is the catch, strengthen that gorgeous beauty by adding embellishments, color, paper piecing, etc. Add any item that will enhance and strengthen that one piece of designer card stock!
The card base was covered with a deep wine cs before attaching the negative space from the Floral Ovals die cut. The diecut was cut from the patterned paper and from plain cs and layered for strength before backing with craft foam. It was attached to the card base with Sookwang tape.
To create the paper tole flowers, I fussy cut elements of the blossoms from additional sheets of paper and used a black Sharpie to color the edges of the individual elements. After shaping the petals, the centers were dotted with a gold Sharpie and lightly brushed with gold glitter mist. The centers were attached with glue dots and Candy Dots foam squares placed underneath the petals for dimension.
The butterflies were cut from the wine cs, dotted with the gold Sharpie, and also lightly brushed with the glitter mist before I adhered them to the card.
As always, thanks for looking!

Oh my goodness Jody, this is incredible! Love the layered flowers and the black sharpie going around the edge and how you used the negative and the die cut that is brilliant. Super stunning card.
