This is for Robin's (Stamperrobin) fun HYCCT challenge - red and white stripes in honour of Candy Stripers.
I googled the history of Candy Stripers, I was shocked at the pictures I saw.....turns out I typed stripper not striper.
Thanks to a suggestion by Robin when MISTI stamping, I initially stamped in Archival ink ink, did all the colouring with distress inks (antique linen for skin, fired brick for cape, stockings and cheeks, black soot for hair).
After the colouring was completed (before fussy cutting) I put her back into the MISTI and restamped using Versafine which is much darker than Archival when used over the top of distress inks.
Thank you for looking.

Oh Susie, your card is fantastic. I am so sorry I had to laugh at you typing in your google search that was just incredibly funny and I really needed the laugh. I have got to get a Misti as restamping over the top of the image really does bring it to a whole new life. Such a wonderful card Ms Susie sure to bring just the needed smile. Hugs!

I love your little girl, she is adorable and love the paper pieced dress! You did a fab job with your doodling around the edge! I'm so bad at that!! Love the banner and wow, her hair is fantastic!

What a wonderful tribute you've made to Candy Stripers!!! Love all the red and white on the kraft CS. Love the circles and popping the white into them, and the banners...all very "Susie". Love the highlights in her dark hair, really nice! I see the Leggings store has found another customer. Now about your Google search...if your sweet innocent candy striper had a mouth it would be shaped into a big upright oval. We can understand, however, that such a delicate little flower, such as yourself, can make a mistake like that. I'm sure we've all misspelled a few things in our lifetimes that we have regretted. You know it's going to haunt you, don't you? Thanks for the laugh! And also the Versafine tip.

Oh my goodness....I really needed a chuckle today and I laughed so hard at your story. Such a sweet card and I love the hint about stamping over the coloring.......what did we do before our MISTIs?
