This is for Emily's HYCCT to be inspired by masterpiece art. My inspiration is pictured above next to my card; it is an 18th century oil-painting by Jean-Honore Fragonard. My mother hung a print of this masterpiece in my bedroom when I was a child because I liked to read. For the challenge, I looked up this painting and when I saw it again, I immediately thought of this image. I used my chalks for the first time in years to color the image. I used yellow for the dress and made the hat pink to match the hair ribbons in the painting. I used pink on the chair inspired by the pillows. I die-cut the image into an oval & sponged the edges. As a kid, I would enjoy reading outside, so I colored the image to look like the reader is outside burying her toes in the green grass instead of water. Since the girl is reading, I used a background of words and I made sure the first word on the stamp (love) appeared in the upper left corner. On the lower half, I stamped some foliage to add to the outdoor look. I punched some flowers from newspaper and layered them with paper flowers held together with vintage looking brads. It was fun to make. Thanks for looking. I hope you are be inspired by the daily challenges.
