Lori has us using the Ombre technique for her HYCCT1517 challenge. This is my first time trying the technique and I love it.
I used my MISTI to stamp the Winter Blessings background and I am SO glad I did. This is actually my third attempt. Normally, I like to iron off the embossed texture after I lay down color but for some reason the two previous attempts completely failed. I was so happy that my stamp was positioned on the MISTI so that I could easily stamp multiple pieces of cardstock without having to line up the stamp each time!
To finish off the card, I added some sparkle with glitter paper. Lydia has definitely inspired me with serveral of her recent cards! My son walked in after I finished and he said, "Now, I like this one". Totally made me smile!

Well, I agree with your son, Now I like this one! That glitter edge is really a great addition to the card but the panel is so striking it would be beuatiful even without the glitter. The Ombre is nicely done. You got a good dark beginning and faded out very nicely!

Great minds think alike. I also did an emboss resist for this challenge. I love how the ombre look over that!

When you get praise from a son that's high praise indeed! He knows what he's talking about... this is one gorgeous card; so much great sparkle and perfect ombre!
