This is for KerryÂ’s HYCCT Challenge to be inspired by a mosaic design. I did a lot of google searching and yet I donÂ’t have a specific image that motivated me; it was the whole theme and the different methods that inspired me. In my searching, I repeatedly came upon crafts for kids involving tearing paper for mosaic or stained glass effect. I got a brainstorm! First I two-step stamped the daffodil in curry for the flower and cabana for the stem. Then I tore up little pieces of DSP and glued the appropriate color over the stamped image. Then I filled in the rest with the slate. Next I stamped the daffodil again in black on top of the DSP pieces making sure as much as possible that the flower was on the curry and the stem was on the cabana. I die-cut the frame, assembled the layers, put it on the card base and added my embellishments. Thanks for a fun challenge Kerry. I havenÂ’t done this kind of process before and thatÂ’s the beauty of these daily challenges. We use stamps & supplies that have been ignored and try new techniques. Thanks for looking.

What a beautiful effect with the stamped daffodil over the mosaic one! Love that it is all inlaid in your oval and the ruffle at the bottom is so cute!

Oh so beautiful! Such a perfect approach to the challenge and I love it when a general search snowballs into amazing brainstorms! Love the torn look of your "tiles". Reminds me of the broken china we placed into tiles for the garden. Thanks for playing along in the challenge!
