When I read today's HYCCT challenge I thought of a card I've had in my favorites for a couple of years. It was one by the very talented, hobbydujour (Sallie) and she was kind enough to message me about her method of making a snowy BG, using watered down paint and a toothbrush. I splattered the snowy BG on a kraft panel, then added the die cut trees and masked the bottom area to make snow banks. The sled was cut from kraft, stamped with kraft and smokey shadow inks and I added a twine rope. The greenery was made with a Martha Stewart branch punch, the tiny bird is from PTI's Little Bitty Bird set and I added a sentiment in pure poppy. Here's Sallie's card that inspired me.

Sue, this really caught my eye in the thumbnails; first, for the use of the sled and then for the great way you captured the snow scene. I, too, am a big fan of Sallie!

I love this! Great job case-ing her card! I really like the red and white twine.
Thanks for playing along with my challenge!

Had to smile, Sue. Did a double take when I saw your card....thinking "that looks familiar" : ) I like your addition of the tree to help hold up the sled and your snow looks great....like big, fluffy flakes coming down.

Sue, I love your snowy background and sponging on the kraft cs. Your added touches of the die cut tree, sled, bird and snow drifts are perfect for your winter scene. You are inspiring me to get back to making Christmas cards when we get back from vacation. Hugs, nancy
