What a fun technique! I smooshed some distress inks onto a nonstick craft mat and spritzed with water before dragging some watercolor paper through the colors. You really should take the time to dry the paper before dragging it through the inks each time - you get those fabulous little splotches on your paper that way. I used a heat tool to dry it quickly, and it is so worth the extra step. Thanks so much to Angie for convincing me to use the heat tool!! :-) This is for Angie's HYCCT challenge today, and I'm thrilled with how the background turned out.
The MISTI is invaluable for re-stamping silhouettes onto watercolor paper. The bumpy nature of the watercolor paper makes it hard to get a solid impression, but the MISTI tool works perfectly to re-stamp over and over until you get perfect coverage for your silhouettes. I actually re-stamped the flower images no less than 5 times each!!!
Holly, this is FABULOUS!!! I love your fabulous inky splatters! I am with you, I absolutely love my MISTI for re-stamping on watercolor paper!!! Your silhouettes are so rich and solid! Love it!! Thanks so much for playing along with my challenge!
