This inked embossing folder background is an experiment which failed in terms of what I wanted to do with it, but which had turned out to well to just throw out. Since my poppies are green, I added the red and black poppy colours with my butterfly, stitched one edge, trimmed it to slightly narrower than the card front and attached it to the base.

This is lovely! I can't imagine how that BG could be considered a failure, it's really striking. I love the red and black for your butterfly against that green, and that one red gem in the one poppy center is a wonderful tie in, in exactly the right place. And of course you stitching echoes the black butterfly body and gives the whole thing a very charming look.
