This took several attempts to get it "just right". My wonderful friend Pam bought me the really cool stamp called "Forest Floor". When I saw that the challenge was to use leaves I knew right away that I wanted to use this stamp. I inked it up with distressed inks and misted water over the stamp before stamping it on white paper. Well I liked the look of the stamp but the white negative space was too much of a contrast. So I tried it a couple of times on pages from an encyclopedia. But the pages just didn't absorb the ink the way I wanted them too, but I did like the way the words looked coming through the leaves. So I started again but this time I stamped Our Daily Bread stamp of the hymn It is well with my soul.I used black stazon ink for the hymn. I used markers, water and report folder to do ink spray smash over the hymn. I then stamped the forest floor along one side and the bottom. I sprayed the whole card with gold shimmer spray. I decided I wanted just a little more detail. I started shading around the leaves with my black sharpie pen, but kinda got carried away and ended up just outlining all the leaves. At that point I liked it but it felt like something was missing. So I stamped the Unity HERE TODAY HERE TOMORROW butterfly. I colored it in with colored pencils. I outlined it with the sharpie pen and added gold paint on the wings. I added the lace and webbing and added some scrabble tiles. I adhered it to the black with the brads.
