This is for Cathy's fun ombre technique challenge. I started this about 20 hours ago...I got a bit carried away with the water and it took for ever to dry.
I spritzed water over the entire piece of watercolour paper, then I did three squirts of Dylusion Ink spray at the top, then I picked the paper up tilted it from side to side, slowly making the inky water work its way across and down the card.
I gave it a blast from the heat gun, then repeated the process twice more. By this stage it was so water logged I had to let it air dry for hours...and hours and hours.
I die cut the feathers from the panel, there was so much ink on the back of the paper that I turned the feathers over and inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink.
Thank you for looking.
Edit: I just looked at this card on my Ipad and the colour looks completely different than lookingat it on my laptop. To best describe the colour it IRL it looks like Salty Ocean distress ink.

Sheesh, if it took that long to dry in your warmer climate, how long would it take here! But you achieved a wonderful gradient of colour, for sure. And I love your feather cards .

You achieve such drama in your cards with these deep rich bgs, Susie. Love how just a little white peeks out on your feathers to really draw the eye. Beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful, Susie, love the colouring, checkered pattern and stunning feathers!! Just read Sabrina's comment about the drying time - doesn't she know you live in Victoria LOL!!! (State vs State joke)
