Happy Friday! It's a new Mix-Ability Challenge today and I'm hosting with a great challenge to MIX131: Love IT! Make your project with something that you love to use! It's also a perfect challenge to add on to the upcoming DTGD 2015!
My card has a few mixed media loves. I love to add doodles here and there (but don't ask me to journal, I'm not there yet!) and I can't get enough of monoprinting on my Creative Palette.
I used NK Studio Marks and some DecoArt acrylic craft paint on my palette, either stamping off designs from the palette or adding a new color from a stamp with paint sponged onto it as my "ink pad".
A layer of gesso was added onto my $1 book pages *no classic books were harmed during this project* and then dry brushed with a tawny yellow paint. I scribbled and smudged pencil graphite around the edges of the hand cut pennants, around the card base and in a few corners of my monoprint paper, then added permanent black lines with my PITT pen. This was a fun and quick card to make.
I hope you'll join us in the Mix-Ability Forum for this week's challenge!

I am so taken with your red and yellow colour combination. I smiled at your comment on the book pages. When I was helping clear out my dad's house after he moved, I brought back as many boxes of books as we could fit in the car to donate to charity, but I also snuck in a few for my craft room ;-). Happy anniversary!!
