I initially I did this card by stamping the images first, then I added the background colour. Unfortunately the amount of water needed to get a good spread of colour meant the black silhouette stamps faded drastically.
I started again, this time laying the colour down first - smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on a LOT of water, dunk a foam blending tool into the inky water and spread over the cardstock.
I used the botched card as a bit of a template to work out where the sky and grass should be.
I keep singing the praises of my MISTI, but seriously this would have been very difficult to make with out it. Each stamp was inked up at least 3 times.
Thank you for looking. I hope you are joining in the fun.

That is so cool Susie (PS, thought I'd sneek some comments in!!)
Love the round door, reminds me of a Hobbit's house I know...I think in New Zealand, yes? That door stamp is so cool...wish I would have gotten it now after seeing THIS card!

How I'd love to see how you create these magnificent scenes, Susie. You actually add a "feel" to your scenes, something that isn't easy. Your stamps are awesome!

Embossing is my preemptive strike when I think an image might be dulled after colouring. And while I don't have a Misti, I have seen Julie Warner write that now she can stamp with Memento, colour with Copics and then overstamp with Versafine to give more definition.
I LOVE that barrel house and your classic Susie background; I am also giggling at your title because I have just had to get out of bed to join in the hunt for DH's motorbike keys.
