On the Stamp 2 save/spend thread we are exploring different card making styles. this week it is shabby chic and vintage. this is a real challenge for me, but I think I succeeded. the floral patterned paper makes me think vintage and the handmade flowers and lace covered the shabby chic, I think. The lace if from an old pillowcase that my friend Stephanie from Australia brought with her. I have washed and ironed it, but it tends not to lie flat, so even though I adhered it straight, it doesn't look like it is. I die cut 12 layers of flowers and one more for the rolled rose. To achieve the colour I wanted, I had to ink up the old envelopes that I use for floral making. However, the distress ink did not dry overnight, hence the title of this card. I scrunched the flower pieces and then layered them and added a brad. The rolled rose ensures that I can't mail this without extra postage, so it will be for a late July birthday and I will need to make a flatter one for the earlier bd.
