Today's Free For All Challenge asks us to use umbrellas, rain, rivers, etc. I went with the umbrella part, but mine is on the beach.
If there's a decent breeze, I'd like to be right there in that chair. We are having the worst heat wave here! And my hubby has been on crutches for a week..we had the back re-sodded, the sprinkler system wasn't working right..Aye yi yi!! Between watering & waiting on him & driving him to Drs., I've been hopping around like a one legged flamenco dancer! I told hubs I could just amputate the foot & get him a peg cause we already have the parrot, lol. So far he's not going for it.
This card is all on one layer..I say one layer because there is only one. I never count the card itself. To me that's a no layer. I started by stamping the chair, masking, then the umbrella, fence & palm tree. With the masks for all of these still in place, I sponged on the sand, sea & used a scallop edge mask to sponge the sky w/ clouds.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups & Copic colors are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, your card is beautiful. A very lovely view and I like it much better than the gloomy views out my window today. I giggled as I read your post. I hope your hubs has a speedy recovery although I am sure it will not be as speedy as you would like. I can sympathize, my dh went through this about 14 yrs ago with complications. Thank you for joining the challenge today and the refreshing view. I hope your weather cools off for you.

Wow! Julie, your little beach scene is fabulous. I would like to be there too. So many details to look at, and I just love everything about this card - especially, your coloring, which is amazing!

Fantastic idea to use a beach umbrella instead of a rain umbrella, Julie. From your posts I get the feeling that you usually look on the bright side rather than the rainy side. I sure would like to pull a chair right up next to you on your beach... an ice chest full of diet pepsi would be paradise. Your colors are so bright and fun, and you really did a fantastic job on the clouds. We are having a heat wave here in So. Cal too, only you will get shot at sunrise if you water your lawn. I just stick my head in the freezer every twenty minutes. Get well wishes to hubby.

Julie love the beautiful scene you have created and the way you have coloured the waters makes it look like the rain coming down on it... also love the palm tree with the wind blowing through its branches... very well done... love it...
