Love the featured gallery/stamper this week - Glitter Me Silly. I so had to fight not adding some glitter to my project because all I could think about was how cool her SCS name is! No glitter for this because it is a box to hold a baby present for a boy - my first grandson! My daughter is decorating with arrows and feathers using yellows, mint and grey.
This project started out as a card. I put some colors on a clear block to get the fun effect Caryn achieved but for some reason it didn't work out. I tried to fix it and it got worse! So I stamped my feathers on that panel. I tried again just using the smash technique but didn't like it either - it had too much yellow. I decided then that I would alter a box instead and put the Target gift card for her rocker my Mom and I are buying for her in there - that way we don't have to lug that thing to the baby shower next week. My Mom bought a little rocker and we are going to put it in her too.
This was a box my Romance perfume came in at Christmas - I saved it because I knew it would be easy to turn it into something really fun. The little pull to the side was pink but I colored it with some grey water color and it changed instantly.
Fun project. Thanks for the inspiration Caryn. You have a super fun and high energy gallery, and you are super talented. I stopped by your blog and loved it too. Enjoy your week as FS.
Hugz to all!

Fantastic recycle, Nancy! Looks like it was fun to do. My Mom used to tell us the "rocker story" about the youngest of my brothers. She always gave him his bottle while sitting in arocker. When she left him with her sister for two days, he wouldn't take his bottle. Her sister called my parents and said they'd have to come home. My Mom told her to just rock him and he'd take the bottle. Our Aunt didn't have a rocker, so had to rock him sitting in a straight chair. He was okay with that - her - not so much!

This is awesome! Love how you've altered this box. Love the corrugated later with the gesso ... so full of texture. And your feathers are so beautiful. Congrats on becoming a Grandma! xx
