My middle son, Ryan, was in an automobile accident in 2006 when he was 21 years old. He was a belted passenger in a car that went off the road into a 9" ditch and right into a tree. Among many internal serious injuries. Ryan suffered a traumatic brain injury and I felt compelled to scrapbook his recovery, mostly for him as he doesn't remember a whole lot of what happened.
This is the last page in Ryan's recovery book. This was the last important hurdle that he had to overcome. He passed all of the driving tests that his therapist gave him and he was able to obtain his driver's license! He was so very happy to be able to drive his truck again! I felt that the pictures of him driving his truck out of the driveway and down the road would be appropriate for the last page of his book.
It has been 9 years since his accident. He is on disability as he still has some deficits from the traumatic brain injury that prevent him from working full time. (He was a carpenter working with his dad at the time of the accident). Some of his deficits are short term memory loss, a slight speech impediment, extreme fatigue, balance issues and sometimes the ability to think things through. He is not the same Ryan as before the accident. He is different, but his tender heart is the same and his love for the Lord is as strong as ever. i'm proud to say that he is now working parttime 3 days a weeks packaging hardware for a small company. He just turned 30 in March. I do pray that God will bring a girl into his life that would love him just the way he is. He so wants to love someone, get married and have a family.
Thank you for allowing me to share Ryan's Recovery journey with you. Thank you for looking at his 'book'.

What a great transition - praying for him too, that God blesses him every step of the way for the rest of his life!!

I stumbled upon these scrapbook pages. I was so intrigued by the story that I spent the time to look at every page and read the notes about the next step in Ryan's Recovery. What an amazing story! Ryan is a testimony for what God can do in the worst of circumstances and how He can make the best of things. Go Ryan! Keep praying and trusting the Lord. He has plans for Ryan!! TFS
