This card id for the WT532 challenge "Red & White" - Cathy challenged us to use only red and white on our projects in honor of the Red Cross, and dedicated the gallery to Anne Harmon (jdmommy). If you've been on SCS very long, you know that Anne's favorite color is red!
I thought I would play with one of my new Anna Griffin embossing folders. The folder is actually 5x7, we won't talk about why my card ISN'T, okay? After embossing the heavy cs, I inked up my brayer with Memento Luxe Love Letter ink and went over the embossed piece several times. It was pretty, but it needed something. I painted over parts of the raised areas with a red Wink of Stella brush pen and was much happier with it. I used the MISTI to help me stamp the sentiment exactly where I wanted it, and added Wink of Stella to the word "thanks" also.
I matted the layer with red cs and adhered the layer directly to the card front with Sookwang tape. I thought about using a flower die cut for embellishment, but finally decided to go with the butterfly.
Anne, I hope you like my addition to the gallery!
As always, "thank you ever so much" for looking!

You are on a creative roll Jody. The darker red colored areas with the lighter red areas looks fantastic. That butterfly looks wonderful against the ef bg. As far as "shrinking artwork" a person that does crafts knows never to ask where the rest of the piece is. This turned out beautifully.

SO pretty! I love Anna Griffin designs and this ef is lovely..I really ike how you have some portions in the darker red. The butterfly is perfect as an accent and your sentimnent is crisp and clean in the love letter red (great name). A fabulous addition to the Anne's red and white gallery ;)

You achieved the perfectly balanced card here, Jody, and I am not concerned with the part that is not here, only the beautiful card you created with the part of the embossing folder you decided to use - the wink of Stella adds such a special effect, and your gorgeous butterfly is perched in just the right spot, next to your sentiment - awesome card!

JodyLynn, this card is very impressive...red is not always an easy color to work with when brayering. I love how you added the darker red to certain areas. I'm sure in real life this card has that little sparkle with the painting of the Wink of Stella. The butterfly is the perfect touch to finish this awesome card. Your sentiment is stamped perfectly...love that misti. Fav'd Thanks for sharing your artistic talents with all of us.
