This is a card for the MIX121 challenge "It's Summer - Better Work Those Quads!" Lydia challenged us to use at least four different mediums on our projects.
When I started coloring this, I really didn't have this challenge in mind, but it worked out that I put some of almost everything I've got on it before I was happy with it.
The image is cut from a 12x12 sheet of whimsical drawings called ADORNit Art Play Paintables. They are printed on lightweight watercolor paper and come in several different sets. I started coloring with Spectrum aqua markers and a water brush, adding Spectrum Noir where I wanted a shade or vibrant color I couldn't get with my watercolor markers. I added a double coat of clear Gelly Roll Glaze pen to the jar and the word "bloom", and Stardust pens to the flower centers and dotted circles at the bottom. The largest orange bloom has a bit is Stickles in the center. There were black dots printed in the center of the pink squares, but I covered them with white Enamel Accents and added the metallic cord bow to the jar. The image was roughly fussy cut, adhered to a black mat and attached to a matching craft foam layer to add dimension.
The background was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with detail white ep before layering onto a black mat and attached to the card front. I die cut the Mod Flower Border from a scrap of black cs that had StickIt adhesive applied to the back, removed the liner and added it to the card front. I attached the focal image slightly off center; I like that look.
As always, thanks for looking!
ETA: I'm sorry if I gave the impression that I did the doodling on this - I could only wish! It's part of the image; all I did was color!

My first impression of the way you colored the "bloom" was remembering how I used to color inside letters like this when I was younger - you took the "doodling" to a whole new level.
I love how you did the BG and made it sing with the white embossing - the perfect stage for the stunning-ly colored image on a black layer - you love that little mason jar, don't you - it looks lovely filled with the wildflowers - perfect card to light up someone's day!

You are one, amazing designer! Your ideas are so unique and creative! I would never think to combine these colors and elements and how fabulous it turned out. Love the rainbows of colors on this as well as the beautifully embossed background. I would have sworn that was designer paper!
