A friend and I go see Jimmy Buffett each year and I usually send her a card just before. These two Darcie's stamp sets are meant for children's birthdays but I couldn't resist using them.
To assemble the map I first cut out a piece of vanilla cardstock slightly smaller than the map. I then ripped the map on the diagonal and adhered it to the cardstock. (The map paper was too lightweight to adhere well to the embossed card base.) I sponged the edges with the Soft Suede to make it look "burned". The embossed base and sentiment are also antiqued. For the sentiment I masked off the portion that said "It's your birthday".
I added the ribbon and adhered the whole thing to the base card.
This is a fun challenge for me each year as the theme is quite fun and my friend appreciates the cards. The pirate theme I chose this time is especially challenging as most pirate cards are for little boys parties!
