I haven't been able to find hot pressed watercolor paper anywhere. I've been looking in stores for quite a while.. this mixed-media paper is pretty smooth so I use that when I need a smoother watercolor surface.

Very beautiful work! I love how your card turned out. Did you just use your ink pads to make this? I'm not sure where you live, I live in Ontario, Canada and have ordered Hot pressed watercolor mat packs from Curry's Art Supply online, they have them in different sizes and work great!

Your hydrangea turned out beautifully. I get All varieties of W/C paper at our local Art Store...not stamping or craft store, but art supply store. You should be able to Google and get online too.
I know this is from over two years ago- but I have this stamp set and just thought I'd try to get a new idea for it, and this is the MOST BEAUTIFUL use of this stamp I have ever seen! I just love watercolor- and I love how this looks! You said ink was SU colors..but then said distress watercolored? Did you stamp with SU ink and then use Distress as watercolor? It's just beautiful. I'm going to have to play with this. Thank you...even two years later! I love it.
I finally tried this tonight for an anniversary card for our son's 5th anniversary. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever done with this stamp --- I love it! (but yours is BETTER- but mine is wonderful!)
I stamped with distress ink.... not distress stain- just ink. (not oxide, either)
I used peeled paint for the leaves/stem and dusty concord for the flower. Then I use a very fine little brush with just wetness, not really a drop of water, and water painted each petal and the leaves and stems, trying to keep individual petals. It looks like a mottled color- but not that good. Then, after that, I stamped it AGAIN with the same ink. It looks FABULOUS! I did six of them. Five are with those colors and the sixth one I used wilted violet and I liked it even more- slightly pinker. Then I stamped it again in wilted violet and didn't think it was that great. and then I stamped it AGAIN with dusty concord and I like that better. I think it's lovely.
