My steps today were in the flower gardens, and let me tell you, being outside half the day sure gets you tired. I came in to make a simple card and upload, and took a nap instead.
Now the simple card: I first stamped the Stampland "gardener" with Cherry Cobbler and then fit the Rubbernecker Poppies in Always Artichoke next to it, layering the blooms with Perfect Plum & Cherry Cobbler. Rubbernecker sentiment is also stamped with Cherry Cobbler.
I'm just not the best at this "freehand layering" stuff and should have named it "Ode to Picaso" or something, but I AM going to try again.

I love it Carol! Popped right out at me & grabbed my attention. Love the Cherry Cobbler & Perfect Plum together. Never would have thought to put those two colors together. Covered my plants tonight. It's darn cold up north from you. Hope my garden doesn't freeze!

This one caught my eye in the gallery too! Love that rich red color and love the stamping on this! Thanks for the chuckles in your description but this look is fantastic, Carol! I too agree that the colors you chose are wonderful and I wouldn't have thought to use them either!

What a sweet little gardener, Carol. She reminds me of the Holly Hobby doll I once made - and even found the pattern for recently! I really like the pearl centres to your poppies.
