I've really been inspired by Nancy Curry's book "Texture Effects for Rubbing Stamping". I ordered it from Amazon for around $13-$14. Nancy does a lot of background techniques in the book, which gave me the idea to try reinkers for chalk ink pads rather than dye reinkers. I squirted on a line of various colors of the reinkers onto white cardstock that had a linen texture. I used a credit card to scrape and smoosh the inks together. I had to add more ink sometimes to fill in bare spots. Then I covered the whole thing with a thin coat of gold metallic acrylic paint and scraped again, this time making sure to leave textured, raised ridges of the gold paint. When the paper was dry I cut a rectangular panel and stamped the flower and sentiment with permanent black ink. This was so much fun! Now I have a use for all those chalk reinkers I was hanging on to.
