My husband asked me to make a card for his father who is terminally ill. Abuelo is Cuban and my husband asked me to make something to remind Abuelo of Cuba. We are always making plantains so when I went to my stash of stamps, I was excited to see this banana tree. I then went to SCS for inspiration and when I saw the panels in Iris's card, I thought immediately of Cuban cigars. I cased her layout and panels but used different measurements, her card is done in a square and mine is rectangular. I also changed the hardware and sentiment. I tried a new technique for me, cracked glass, as I wanted an "old" feel to the card. When I showed the finished card to my husband he was very happy with the results. Thank you Iris for helping me to make Abuelo's 75th birthday card very special.
