This week's WTUI challenge from Lisa ~ WT531 ~ May Flowers.
La Fete du Muguet: in France it is traditional for friends to give each other a little bunch of lily of the valley on the 1st on May.
Joanne continues as hostess over at CCEE Stampers. Today she asks us to get out our acrylics and inks. We are to create a background using inks, but no stamps or embossing folders. We're also to use something acrylic on our card.
My ink background is the floral oval panel - it was an experiment to see whether ink spray smash would work on photo paper, (answer, NO: didn't smoosh and took forever to dry, but was worth holding on to). I cut it with Spellbinders Floral Ovals.
I used acrylics on the base layer: gesso mixed with pink acrylic for the stencilled trellis, then white acrylic round the edges, with some Stickles when it was dry.
Sizzix trellis stencil cut from white card and slightly distressed.
Papillon Potpourri butterfly stamped on vellum, embossed with white, gold wire added. HA sentiment on a Sizzix tag. Stickles, gesso and gouache for the stencilled circles.

Sabrina I love the lily of the valley flowers. I did find that I have some in my yard (actually my MIL had to point them out) all over my yard - LOL! They are so very pretty. I love the distress inks you added with all the wonderful spring colors and the great trellis too. That butterfly is the perfect addition to your stunning spring card. Thank you so much for doing a card for my flower challenge.

Love the colors. So pretty and a good job combining the challenges. I like the may tradition to send lily of the valley...TFS.
