This is for both the sketch and inspiration challenge. The main image started as a rectangle but really wanted to be fussy cut to show off the lilacs! It is stamped and blended with chalk. Vertical panel is a border punch, verse panel is embossed and stamped, ribbon is the base for the horizontal panel. The inspiration is this beautiful lilac shawl http://accessories.novica.com/womens...lilacs/178128/ Lilacs were my mother's favorite. She's been gone 17 years and I still pick up the phone to call her.

Carla, my heart skipped a beat when I read your description. I looked at the card because lilacs were my mom's favorite flower and I have such strong memories of her. Like your mom, she died 17 years ago. She was only 76 and very healthy... a slight bump to the head caused a fatal blood clot. She did crafts and I always want to show her my cards. She was from New Jersey where lilacs grow wild... they are hard do find in Calif. Your fussy cut flowers with the perfect die cut panel looks lovely, and I love that shade of green. Please focus on all the wonderful times you shared with your mom this mother's day.

Oh my goodness, this is stunning. I too lost my mom, on the 14 of May , last year. My mom loved flowers of all kinds, but she really loved purple violets. Mom also did crafts. Her specialty, was crocheting and embroidery . She loved my cards, and was always happy to see them . She would look at me, in a puzzled way, and say, " you really made this "? I miss her so much, she was my best friend. Your card is so beautiful , It brought me some beautiful memories of my mom. I love everything about your gorgeous card, from the pretty dotted swiss bg dp, to that pretty green ribbon. An instant fave. Thank you, and tfs.

Beautiful color combination! Love lilacs! They were my mother's favorite flower! She loved the smell and the color. She died at only 56 years old in 1984. Your card brought back that memory for me! I have a small lilac bush on my yard from her big tree that grew in her backyard!
