Such a lovely color challenge. This card did not turn out like I had planned. I sponged the background and then thought....wow....what am I gonna do now! I was searching through my stamps and came across this CTMH set. This is what I came up with. Very simple........
Side note: Does anyone else have difficulty sponging with the new SU! ink pads? I find that I have to 'dab' rather than 'smear'. You too?

Very charming take on the color challenge! Love the simplicity of the design and the dreamy effect you achieved with your sponging.
As for your observation about the new SU ink vs the old, I totally agree with you! I've found the ink on the new foam pads is more dense when it goes on a sponge and it is much more difficult to do subtle blending. You did a masterful job blending the colors on your background, so I would say that you figured out the right technique to handle the new ink. Nicely done! TFS

Love your little guy on the beach and how you made his footprints show in the sand - your card has a very dreamy, magical look - might seem to you like a simple card but it speaks VOLUMES!!

So pretty Lesley- as for the inks - I have always had trouble sponging with SU inks -on my card today I sponged on glossy card stock and it worked like a charm for me
