I have been visiting my aunt today which is pretty much an all-day affair. But when these Shore Birds dropped through my letterbox this morning as a sweet birthday RAK (thank you so much, Vicky!), I had to fit in a quick card for Ky's MIX117 Dragon Fire challenge.
I tried soot stamping the lighthouse image, but had a bit of trouble, the most successful imprint was one in the corner of the card after two less successful ones...so I gave up and stamped it on pale blue DP instead. Burnt the edges (glad I have "asbestos fingers" according to DH, since there is no running water up in my attic and I hadn't thought to put some in a shallow tray!!) and also let the candle mark the front of the page a bit.
For the base, I stamped Gradation with Brushed Corduroy, and one of the Gorgeous Grunge stamps along the bottom in Chipped Sapphire. To get my mixed media in, I used gesso for the wavy texture, and gold acrylic for the splatter all across the bottom to mimic sand. Added my sentiment and two of the shore birds and called it done...got home from my aunt, cooked dinner and now we're about to go out again.

The burnt edges seem like such a natural with the nautical image...maybe thinking of those old pirate maps. : ) Lovely card, Sabrina, with not only the main panel, but the beautiful bg panel showing your mastery of various techniques.

I am tired just reading about your day, Sabrina. This card would have faken me all day just to come up with all the different techniques and materials. I love all the textures and muted colors. Wonderful card.

"asbestos fingers" - that's a new one, Sabrina!! Your burning of the edges of the nautical print, the pebbled BG, the die cut birds along the beach and the sentiment off the side of the image panel to the card base are all intriguing touches to this wonderful card - way to go!!
