I have seen so many pretty cards using this tree stencil, and I finally got a chance to play with it. Of course, this is not the card I thought I was making. Before putting down the stencil, I lighlty sponged the white cardstock with crushed olive on the bottom, spun sugar in the middle, and burlap on the top..... I never sponge anything LIGHTLY. I wanted the trees to have a little color rather than remaining bright white. I taped the aspen tree stencil down and sponged more layers of distress inks to get more intense colors. I dabbed some black soot to add some depth. With the stencil still in place, I splattered water everywhere. When I removed the stencil it did not look too good. I went over the trees with grey copics to get a more 3D look. The stencil is 6x6 ( a little large fir a card) so I wasn't sure what to do with it.... I am sure you will see another card with the full size image. Once I saw the SC536, I decided to make a color copy at 75% size And to do the SC in a vertical orientation. I die cut some leaves and sponged with the greens. TFL, Francie

Oh my! Your trees are amazing with such depth and light - I love the way you've worked the colours and then used the sketch, adding some leafy layers - just perfect!

Truly wonderful creation. I am so glad you don't sponge "lightly" as I love your bright splash of colour on your cards. The trees and the wonderful background are incredibly well done.

WOW! Phenomenal! For something that didn't look too good, this is amazing! Love the color combination on this one and the birch trees are amazing with your added shading. Incredibly GORGEOUS!
