This is for Jenn's fun technique challenge - hand drawn lines. The lines around the border are hand drawn and so the owls legs. The little owls started out life as a small Unity Stamps rubber stamp, their legs are less than half an inch long. Before stamping the owls, I masked their shoes with a bit of washi tape, and then I masked their bodies and legs and just stamped their shoes leaving a 4" gap.
Using a micron pen, I drew lines for their new legs. The owls were coloured with Tria markers then I rubbed some walnut stain over them to take the super bright look away. I did a rough fussy cut of the owls, purposely leaving a bit of card showing around their bodies.
The background is the usual smack & squirt technique (smack distress ink pad onto al foil, squirt on water and using a foam blending tool, scrub the inky water onto the cardstock, add a bit more colour without adding water). Flick water on sky and let it air dry. Spritzed water on grassy area and air dry.
A little bit of foliage was added, some white spots and dots with a white Sharpie paint pen, doodled border and inked edges with walnut stain. Job done. I was away last week, we had a great time but I missed this!!
Thank you for looking, hope you have a happy week.

What a hoot! Love this! And your backgrounds always amaze me. I shouldn't assume, but I'm going to...these are two stylish owl gals out struttin' their stuff in order to show off their brand new gorgeous leggings! Thanks Susie for all the smiles you create on all our faces! I always look forward to your masterpieces.

Welcome back from your holiday, Susie!! There I am challenged by drawing lines on my cards (weird when I was such a doodler while on the phone!) - you so cleverly use lines, love the long legs and I always like how you doodle around the edges of cards! Lovely, colourful bg, too!!
