Cathy's WT Challenge was to do a watercolor background. Background, foreground.....did it all on the image panel with watercolors, the old-fashioned way with paints and a brush(no technique). : )
Many of my "bird" cards go to friends who are intense world-wide birders. They appreciate accuracy and I try to deliver. The bird on this SU image had a "bandit-like" mask around its eye and I used that as a distinctive mark and went to my Peterson guide to try to match it to a real bird species. Came up with a Myrtle warbler and colored it accordingly. Warblers are migrating now on the Mississippi flyway so one could be passing through. ; ) Love the quote from Thoreau.

Beautiful bird image and I'm sure the accuracy is so appreciated. Watercoloring with a brush is how I started on this journey of cardmaking and I still enjoy it.
