My daughter has a birthday party to attend this weekend so I made this for the front of the gift bag. It utilizes this week's sketch challenge sketch AND the Try A New Technique this week too - negative glitter.
I was not sure how I would use the sketch and then, while browsing through the gallery I saw a card with a very pretty background that used the Embossing Folder Stamping technique. I have done it many times using ink pads but never using mists so I immediately pulled out my beautifully shimmery Radiant Rains mists from ColourArte and started experimenting - I am in love with this! And so easy! I did both sides of the folder so I got a negative and a positive image which turned out to work perfectly with the sketch! It's cloudy here today so I had trouble catching all of the shimmer of the mists.
Then as I was scrolling through my Cricut images it occurred to me that the way some of them were cut out in a way that would be perfect for the negative glitter technique. I covered the bottom layer of the hats with Scor Tape and glitter before glueing the top layer on. I hope the birthday girl likes it!
