Hello, It's Friday and time for a new Mix-Ability challenge.
Come join us for MIX115: Wooley Dots where I'm hosting the challenge to use some type of wool in your project. Actual wool, and image of wool, or trickery that looks like wool. I chose the last one.
I wondered if I had any wool fabric around that I could make some flowers for this challenge and while that is definitely well stocked on my shelf, it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, so I made some faux felting wool with cotton balls and color mist spray. Once dry, I pulled at the cotton a little to fluff it and I think it will pass for some fake wool.
I used basting spray to keep the "felting wool" in place while I stitched it down onto my monoprint background.
For the sentiment I used a fun sentiment that didn't quite fit, oops, so I tried the new MISTI and loved how easy it was to line up the sentiment... really I didn't have to line it up, just stamp layer and stamp. Sweet.
I hope you'll come and join me and the Mixers in our Mix-Ability forum this week!

I just love this! I think even the background looks as if it had soft texture. We go regularly to a patchwork and quilting exhibition in the Botanical Gardens, this reminds me of some of what we see there.
