For this month's tickle Sue (Greenie) is taking us to Ireland! I know Sabrina has the inside track on this theme being that she is a native..but I did have the opportunity to visit there last fall. My sister and I took a 10 day self directed tour, driving the narrow roads and staying in B&Bs. It was fabulous..we loved it!! Every place was so beautiful and the people were the nicest! I had to include a couple of "Irish" things that you will definitely see if you take a trip there: sheep...croft houses...and stone fences. My bg is some MME paper that I thought would work and it had the perfect words on it..can you see in the upper right corner it says "so lovely" which describes Ireland to a T. Thanks for taking a look today.

Oh yes, for sure sheep and the stone walls - I have a lot of photos of walls from round the country. We have a friend whose father was a stonemason, and after he retired she made it a personal project to go round and take some photos of various walls he had built and make a little album. The black-faced sheep are spot on.
And I hear you on the narrow roads, aren't they ever! We had to laugh once when we were out on a narrow road, barely room for one car let alone two, in the middle of nowhere, and came across....a Maserati.
The rolling hills Sue suggested are really starring on some of the cards I've seen so far - I love yours.

Wow, wow, wow... I just love this, Polly. I can't decide which I like more, the roof onbthe cottage, the stone fence or the 4 leaf clover. Right into my faves. I love it.

Oh, Polly, so glad someone else has have the good fortune to visit Ireland - is it not every bit as beautiful and green as they say it is!!!!? Love your stitched rolling hills, and bringing a few touches of the sights - those stone walls, the croft houses are everywhere, and so picturesque. Sabrina may not have been able to squeeze some sheep on her card, so I am glad you brought some!!
Insert 2 fun things from my trip with my DH, back in 1996 - first, our guide told us we were coming up on an Irish traffic jam on one of the narrow roads - we could not imagine how such a narrow road could have a lot of traffic on it - actually was a herd of sheep crossing the road that held us up for quite a while!! Second, my DH came up with a theory, that all the sheep and goats must have 2 legs shorter than the other two, so they could stand upright on the steep hills!! He had the whole bus in stitches with that one - even out guide was laughing!

I love this, especially that you included a stone fence to keep your sweet sheep from straying! The thatch roof on the cottage is adorable! I so envy you - Ireland has long held a fascination for me and is one of the places on I would absolutely LOVE to visit!
