For the IC challenge from last Saturday ~ IC486 Umbrellas; double take.
I'd made a background for this owl and it just didn't come together - so after work today I took a look at the IC options, and picked THIS, the very first pin. Actually, it reminded me so much of a scene in the Parc Monceau when we were in Paris this time last year.
I wanted to recreate the feel of the background with the misty soft-focus.
Cut the tag, and with it still in the die I masked off the path and stamped the trees. I coloured them with Couleur d'Art pencils and stamped the big splatter stamp from Gorgeous Grunge with Pumice Stone and Shabby Shutters. When I added the gesso to give the soft look, it smeared them a bit, but I got what I was going for. Sponged in the path and the grassy foreground. Stamped the sentiment. Sponged the edges, stamped Gorgeous Grunge again with the brown ink, added Versamark and one coat only of UTEE to give a watery look. I also sprinkled a little UTEE over the tag - but since we were in the middle of a heavy rainstorm when I took the photo, my lighting conditions are not the best.
Added some Mizuhiki cord through the hole in tag, and a couple of teardrop/raindrop gems.
And to finish, I added my little Unity owl with his toadstool umbrella - he's on his third card now and I think he's decided to settle here; one is in the bin and one can be recycled into something else.

You really nailed the watery, misty feel of the pin and your owl is so cute. Love the base tag in the pretty blue and the raindrop and cord accents are just perfect Sabrina!
