This card for last Tuesday's Teapotter challenge, is for my Uncle Gene. It was inspired by these umbrellas on a Pinterest board. The board was one of two IC486 inspiration sites Audrie gave to us for yesterday's (Sat) challenge. Loved the rich colors and prints which reminded me of my Cosmo Cricket "Wanted" paper. I intended to use more of the orange and brown papers but since I used so many shades of brown ink, I opted for a variety of colors including blues and greens. I used a variety of die cuts to add layers and texture. As well, I used a Tim Holtz distress tool on the edges of many pcs. Inked them w/Ranger distress inks. In addition to writing a personal message on the inside, I stamped a MFT sentiment that reads:
"You are a special blessing in my life" which he certainly is!
I decorated the inside and the ep with other stamps from SU's Wild, Wild West.
I used last Wed's SC533, which was a neat sketch.
THANK YOU to ALL the Teapotters who crafted cards for my Uncle and sent them. I'm sure he has begun receiving them and that I will hear from him soon, maybe even today. I will let you all know what he has to say.
THANKS, too, for looking at my card today!

I love the rich colors and all of the distressing on this great card - so well executed and perfect for the occasion! I love all things cowboy, as well, as my mother's family were rodeo/ranch people - I even have one of my grandmother's spurs... Anyway - fabulous card, and thanks for sharing!

Gabby, you always make such great masculine cards, and this one is, for sure! Super paper, love the fence and its added trim of stars, and the frame around the WWW cowboy is really wonderful, it looks so rich and textured.

Gabby, this card for your Uncle Gene is really going to lift his spirits - what a wonderful job you have done with all the distressing, and your cowboy image, with its leafy frame, the fence with the cracked paint, and the star - since it sure sounds like you are the star in his life. What a wonderful man, and I am happy to encourage him with a card!!
