Hi all,
I wanted to do Susie Austraila's Tea potters challenge so I started thinking of this idea yesterday when the sketch came out so I have to say that I cheated a little bit on today's WT challenge in that I already had an idea formulated (that is half the battle) but it still took me from 1:30 to 4:00 pm to complete (not counting camera and computer time). so I think that makes me a turtle just as I feared! LOL!! This card is going to Gabby's uncle Gene, author of some Western books. The inside is on the right and has a verse about God's mercies new every morning...one of my favorite! It encourages me so I thought it might encourage Gene.
Oh I forgot the cow and it seems that it should have had a cow with a name like "Whykickamoocow" for a town! Oh well...they are just out of sight, as you can plainly see, there is a rope on the fence for our cowboy to help him gather the cows up. His wonderful wife decorated the end of his rope with turquoise beads because she knows he loves turquoise! I don't know if you can see it but there is a boot stamped under the sentiment in a light tan. The bg leather tooled stamp is a new one (for me) from Stampendous. I am sorry, I don't know the maker of the horse and rider...I have forgotten but if you know DJ Rants she may be able to help you as she told me where to find them in the first place. My sketch is turned inside out as my element #4 is the horse and rider on the left instead of the right! I guess I should add: the mountains have much more color that can't really be seen so I guess you will have to imagine snow!
I am hoping Gene will like his card.
Thanks for looking!

Robin, this card is so PERFECT for Gene and his love of the western elements you have so lovingly placed all over your card - I think the moo cows have all been kicked into the barn by this tired looking rider - great scene in the BG too!

Robin, this is extraordinary with your image, fence, lasso and coloring. Gene should surely look this card. I really like the other card too. Yes, his mercy is never ending.

Well, there are some amazing details and fussy cutting and wonderful coloring on this card, so it totally understandable that this card took extra time!

Robin, that tooled leather background stamp is GREAT and I love it! I have seen a few southwestern cards today because of the Teapotters challenge and I like em' all. Hey, it's okay to be a tortoise (she smiles). We get the job done AND pay attention to the details along the way. You have to at least "slow down to smell the roses." Great card today my friend.
