This is a birthday card for my stepdad - his cards always have a dog on them, and this Xcut set gives me so many to choose from. I think this hound is so cute!
The dog, birds, tree and butterfly were all cut from white or cream 110lb cs and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I also cut two "happy" from 110lb cream cs backed with Stick It, and three from green cs. The grass borders were cut from colored cs.
I arranged the scene on blue cs, temporarily adhered the grass borders and one of the clouds and cut the card front with a stitched rectangle die.
The light green grass is adhered to the directly to the card base, as is the large cloud and the small cloud on the right. The darker green grass border is mounted on foam tape. I cut a duplicate dog from craft foam that was backed with Stick It adhesive, layered the colored dog on top and positioned him on the card front. I added the second small cloud on the left with foam tape and attached the butterfly and birds with Multi Medium.
I formed the leaves on the tree a bit and attached the trunk directly to the base with Multi Medium, and added Multi Medium in tiny spots along the base of some of the branches.
I layered the two cream "happy" die cuts with one of green and attached it to the card front. The other two green "happy" die cuts were attached directly to the card front with Multi Medium. To finish it up, I added some Wink of Stella clear brush pen to the butterfly and drew in some tiny antennae. Love how this turned out!
As always, thanks for looking!

Love that hound dog! Your coloring on him is perfect! The sentiment in the grass looks fantastic, Jo! This is technique I haven't tried yet but love the look particularly with the repeated work! He's going to love this one!

Another precision work of "heart", your uncle is going to treasure this card like no other!! He may have gotten dog cards in the past, but this one, with all the dies, comes together in an ever so perfect scene. Your title - Hot on the Trail" made me chuckle - your dog certainly is, and you are SMOKIN' HOT on the TRAIL of making some super cards!
