This is my March quota of Christmas cards done and dusted.
I stamped the angel four times on watercolour paper, and to ring the changes one is coloured with Inktense (the blue one shown here), one with Polychromos (this green one) and then I did blue and green with distress inks too. I can't pick which I like best, so that's all good. Stickles on the wings, sponged the edges with ColorBox Cocoa pigment ink, then used a bronze glitter gel pen. I used a stipple brush and some brown and blue inks to take away the stark whiteness, since I'd used my whitest watercolour paper (Fabriano HP) rather than some of the creamier ones.
Base is sponged with Vintage Photo distress stain.
For the background paper I chose some old Christmas hymns and carols from a music book. It was great quality paper despite being quite old (the dedication written in the front is dated 1937) and it took my homemade misters perfectly - I used a brown one and a blue one. I tore the edges, and stitched round them with buttonhole thread for extra definition. The word bubbles are popped up on foam tape. To finish I added some gold glitter stars, and a little sprig of holly in the corner to pick up on the angel's wreath.

Oh, Sabrina, I LOVE THESE!! Perfect with the music BG and sponged, with the stitching all around. Love the little snip of holly and the stars for the corners - just enough but not too much so it leaves your precious image as the focal point!
Hey, I have some old Hymnals too, so you have inspired me to dig them out for my Christmas cards - geez, it is already MARCH, I better get started! LOL

These are so lovely and sweet. I like both colors and the music background paper is perfect with these angel images. Inspiring me to get out some old angel stamps and music paper and CASE these; into my favorites for sure.
