I was my dad's "little pumpkin head" and I followed him everywhere that I was allowed. I was heartbroken when he left when I was in first grade and went to Newfoundland and worked for four years. He only came home the month of December. I cried and cried when he could not be here for my first communion on Mother's Day that mom let me buy (Yea sure, with her money) a METAL lawn chair for him and had my picture taken with it in my dress and sent it to him. That made me happy, and then much more so, when he came home four years later to stay! I could not find any chair in my stuff other than this one and this took me 20 minutes to find! tfl
I am glad searching time does not count but either way I made it under 60 minutes - 20 searching and 30 making!

Rita,
Made me a bit sad to hear the story but so glad you had a way of making sure your dad was with you in some way! Great card and so glad you could join us today for VSN.

Oh Rita - what a moving story. I know so many Irish families had that for many, many years. And without modern communications I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for you - and them. I'm glad you found a chair stamp to use on this lovely card.
